Brand Swapping Method // Low Effort Content Scaling
Yesterday I heard about Brand Swapping from the Niche Site Lady twitter.
A technique, I am sure many people and directory websites have been using for a long time, but amplified by the Mike from Niche twins.
Writing about it because I am doing it for last 2 years, but never realized this tactic have a name. You can use it for your startup to scale content with low efforts.
Understanding Brand Swapping
Brand Swapping means changing a small percentage of the content from the page, usually the brand name. Google calls it cookie cutter technique.
See, for some keywords, the majority of the content is the same. It’s the keywords that change.
Example 1:
- Best Magento Contact Form Extension
- Best WordPress Contact Form Plugin
For both of the keywords, you can write an article with the same introduction, outro, and even the plugins/extension description. Because if you know enough, these are the same things.
You only have to swap the WordPress plugin with the Magento extension.
Example 2:
- Snovio Alternatives
- Lemlist Alternative
Snovio and Lemlist are cold email outreach softwares. The alternative posts contain similar content. You only have to change several keywords and you have a different page serving the search intent.
Example 3:
- Best TV under Rs 10000
- Best TV under $100
Now the $100 = Rs 1000.
You can change the currency in the article to make it unique.
Example 4:
- How to do keyword research using Semrush
- How to do keywords research using Ahrefs
The only differentiator in these two articles is how to use the software. The theoretical content like ‘what is keyword research, importance of keyword research, finding seed keywords, philosophy of keyword research’ is the same.
People are using Brand Swapping smartly and in creative ways.

Is it Duplicate Content?
Yes it is duplicate content. But Google does not mind duplicate content if it is serving the search intent and has a unique spin around the keyword.
And if you put some effort into this, you can create unique content and not have to worry about duplicate content problems.
Tips and Best Practices
- Do not copy word for word
